Our purpose is to serve all who come to us in need and we understand that using the services of a food bank for the first time can sometimes be a difficult experience.  Our staff will do their very best to make you feel at home and welcome during your visit.  Be sure to relax and enjoy a complimentary coffee while you wait to be served. St Thomas Elgin Food Bank – The Caring Cupboard is located at 803 Talbot Street, St. Thomas.   For information regarding eligibility and hours, please read below.

Mondays & Thursdays   9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Tuesdays   12:00  p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Please note that we are closed on statutory holidays.

Frequently Asked Questions

The food bank is available to you every month, but every individual may be different. It is up to the discretion of management for clients to be eligible to come earlier or monthly. Should you require further assistance please contact Karen McDade, General Manager at the food bank.

Everyone is required to select a preprinted number and we ask that you patiently wait until your number is called.

If possible, you should bring your own reusable or plastic shopping bags. We have extra donated plastic shopping bags available if needed.
